This year’s Hungerford Food Festival is set to go ahead on the town’s High Street and Town Hall on Sunday, 4th October from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

Hungerford Food Festival is a family-friendly community event that has been celebrating local food producers and artisans since 2009. This year, it has been carefully organised to ensure that it adheres to social distancing protocols.  The food talks and demonstrations have been cancelled for now, while more of the event will take place outdoors.

There will be more than 50 stalls all from the local area, selling produce such as bread, oil, flowers, artisan goods and more.

Committee chairwoman Penny Locke said: “After much discussion, we have decided that we won’t let Covid-19 stop us holding the annual Hungerford Food Festival. We have worked hard to make it safe for everyone and look forward to showcasing the best of the local produce that’s available.

“We’ve successfully organised food and artisan markets taking place at the Croft Field since July to ensure that we can hold a safe food festival this year. Thank you to everyone who has made these events run so smoothy – we are lucky to have such supportive visitors to stallholders and volunteers.”

The next event takes place on Sunday, 4th October at the Hungerford Town Hall and in the High Street from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
